A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF STRATEGIC ACTIVITIES 2015 – PRESENT
The Government of the Republic of Croatia, at its 233rd session held on 24 June 2015, adopted a Decision on the method of storing master seeds of virus produced by the Institute of Immunology, Zagreb.
The Government of the Republic of Croatia has adopted the Regulation on the Establishment of the Institute of Immunology (Official Gazette No. 91/2015) as a public institution for performing activities in the field of healthcare that are of strategic and general economic interest for the Republic of Croatia.
The Institute of Immunology was registered at the Commercial Court in Zagreb on September 4, 2015 under the entity registration number CRN: 080987723.
On 23 June 2016, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted a Decision on entrusting the Ministry of Health with the exercise of ownership powers over state property consisting of master seeds of virus.
On June 27, 2019, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the adoption of the National Plan for the Supply of Medicinal Products Produced from Human Plasma for the 2019-2022 Period (Official Gazette, No. 63/2019)
Program of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the 2020-2024 Term
On April 30, 2020, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the Assessment of the Market Value of the Master Seeds of Measles, Rubella and Mumps Viruses and the Preparation of a Study on the Use of Assets Owned by the Republic of Croatia, represented by the Master Seeds of the Viruses produced by the Institute of Immunology.
At its session held on February 5, 2021, the Croatian Parliament adopted the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030 (NDS 2030), which recognized the need to revitalize the Institute of Immunology for the self-sufficiency of the Republic of Croatia in the production of vaccines and blood products.
Continuing with the NDS within the Croatian Competitiveness and Cohesion Program 2021-2027. (CCCP 2021-2027) the following activity has been determined: Investment in the revitalization of the production of the Institute of Immunology to ensure self-sufficiency in the production of blood products and medicinal products derived from blood plasma
On June 2, 2021, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Conclusion on the Acceptance of the Framework and Guidelines for the Implementation Plan for the Revitalization of the Production of the Institute of Immunology
In July 2021, the Council of the European Union adopted the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026
At its session held on September 9, 2021, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on the Establishment of the Institute of Immunology (Official Gazette No. 99/2021)
On December 30, 2021, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the Adoption of the National Health Development Plan for the Period 2021-2027 and the Health Development Action Plan for the Period 2021- 2025 (Official Gazette No. 147/2021), including activities related to the revitalization of the Institute of Immunology
On March 23, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Conclusion on the Acceptance of the Framework and Guidelines for the Implementation Plan for the Revitalization of the Production of the Institute of Immunology
On June 21, 2023, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on the Establishment of the Institute of Immunology (Official Gazette No. 68/2023)
Program of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the 2024 – 2028 Term
On January 11, 2024, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the Adoption of the National Program for the Supply of Medicinal Products Produced from Human Plasma 2024 – 2027 (Official Gazette No. 5/2024)
On May 20, 2024, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the Approval of the Ministry of Health, the Institute of Immunology for assuming obligations from the state budget of the Republic of Croatia in 2025 for concluding a public procurement contract for the design and construction of a plant for the production of European Viper Venom Antiserum (Equine)
On May 15, 2025, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted a Decision granting prior consent to the Ministry of Health, Institute of Immunology for assuming obligations from the state budget of the Republic of Croatia for the period from 2026 to 2030, for concluding a public procurement contract for the design and construction of a plant for the production of medicinal products from human plasma.
