Qualification Structure

The activity of the Institute of the Immunology, Inc. can be roughly divided into: production and services, research and development (including teaching). As from October 31, 2010 the Insitute has 354 employees with the following qualification structure

Organizational Structure

The activities of the Institute of Immunology Inc. are performed through 11 departments headed by the Management Office that includes Department of Internal Audit and Control and Department of Quality Assurance.

Department of Quality Assurance organizes and manages a systematic approach to quality which combines good manufacturing practice and good business practice, that the ultimate goal of the supply market and patients with high-quality immunobiological preparations.

QA Department encourages the efficacy and safety of production processes, thus ensuring product quality in accordance with predefined requirements and specifications. It’s main motto is to fit ensure the quality of a product from beginning of the life cycle.

Manufacture is the main activity of the Institute, which makes it a profit-oriented organization. Manufacture is organized in five departments:

  • Viral Vaccines
  • Bacterial Vaccines and Allergens
  • Transfusiology
  • Plasma Derivatives
  • Preparation and Finalization

Department of Finance and Support Functions, Department of Sales and Marketing; Department of Logistics, covers the logistics common to all manufactures (legal administration and human resources, accounting, financing, IT, enviromental, safety health care and energy, sales, marketing, distribution, purchasing, laboratory animals and technical services).

At the Department of Research and Development, a number of scientists are employed who are engaged in basic and applied research as well as in educational activities at the University of Zagreb. Five long-term research projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology have been conducted at the Institute of Immunology.

Since the end of 2001, the Institute has been actively included in the Croatian Program of Innovative Technological Development through the work on six technological research development projects, with Institute affiliates as principal investigators.

Quality Control Department performs supervision of all manufacturing steps, from control of ingredients and materials through the control of final products, for all Institute products, and collect registration documentation for the Institute products.
